Ruapehu eruption style and environmental dangers

Photo found on gns science volcanoes in new Zealand

Although the Ruapehu volcano does not erupt very often, it can be a very explosive volcano. This volcano is mostly andesite and ash. Some hazards with this volcano are ash fall, lava flow, and lahars. There can be damage to ski resorts that are nearby, floods from the crater lake, mudslides, and avalanches. Flooding from the crater lake causes flooding which mades soil soft and marsh like. The atmosphere gets much ash distributed in the air and passive steam clouds usually caused by the crater lake. You do not want to take this volcano lightly as it can cause lots of damage to the environment and to people.
